Hey guys! Sorry for disappearing completely for a while there. I spent about six weeks working on Mark Wright’s Hollywood Nights and the schedule essentially took over my life. We did a bunch of fun things like going to Yosemite for five days where I snapped the above shot. THEN one of my very best friends got married on the 17th, so any spare time I did have kind of went towards that! It’s been crazy and fun and I’ve loved every minute of it.

Here’s Kim and I after her rehearsal dinner – bride and maid of honor! So basically with the show wrapped and Kim off on her honeymoon, I have quite a bit more free time at the moment. I’m hoping to use some of it to get back to the fashion, fun, and geekery formerly present here. I admittedly already have quite a few outfit photos piled up for posts and with Meli & Augi‘s visit for Comic Con only a few weeks away, I’m sure I’ll have plenty to write about! I hope at least some of you are still around to read it. xx Anika

The update: this past Wednesday I officially wrapped on Q’Viva! I made some great friends and learned a lot, so I’ll miss it at least a bit. Fortunately, I’m sure I’ll be seeing and/or working with quite a few of them very soon. I had one day off and then bright and early Friday morning I hopped on a plane to New York City! I’m staying with my lovely friend Angela while I work for a week on the Project Runway All Stars After Show. My life doesn’t suck right now.

I got in late afternoon yesterday so Angela and I had time for a little fun! We went out for some awesome Thai food (and deadly mango martinis) at Joya and then stopped for some Lone Stars at Floyd NY before ending our night with some late-night nachos and a giggle-fest. Tonight promises to be more of the same and I may be exhausted tomorrow, but it’s all worth it!

Unofficial Hiatus

You may have noticed some radio silence from my end lately. I didn’t exactly intend to take a hiatus, but 12 hour days 5 days a week really take away my time from writing! Then when I do have free time, I generally use it for fun pursuits.

Basically, that’s my semi-long-winded way of explaining why I haven’t been posting much. I’m still working on Q’Viva and it’s going well! I got the above fortune last week and it really made me smile. I hope all of your starts to the year are heading in the right direction as well.

+ Rang in the new year at a beautiful old house in Echo Park with my lovely friend Cassandra. Post-midnight countdown we sat in a park across the street looking out over all of Los Angeles, loads of stars, and watching random fireworks go off down below. It was a magical beginning to 2012.
